Primary job functions will include a variety of interesting and diverse environmental health & safety, site investigation, remedial system operation & maintenance, and construction support services. RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:
  • Groundwater, surface water, and other environmental media sampling;
  • Participate in hazardous material inspections for asbestos, lead-based paint, mold, and other hazardous materials. A current state-issued asbestos inspector license is desired, but not a prerequisite;
  • Perform industrial hygiene testing for various chemical agents and physical stressors in manufacturing, commercial, and construction settings;
  • Review and interpret information from safety data sheets and online information sources;
  • Perform Phase 1 and 2 Environmental Site Assessments;
  • Contractor oversight and preparation of daily field reports;
  • Monthly Operation & Maintenance of various environmental remediation systems (P&T, SVE, etc.);
  • Technical report preparation;
  • Professional interaction clients and various regulatory agencies;
  • Problem solving for a wide variety of clients and situations; and
  • Ability and desire to learn and apply standard operating procedures with attention to detail.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Proof of organizational, written, and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to write in English;
  • Basic computer skills including proficiency with Adobe PDF, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel;
  • Possess the ability to traverse a construction job site consisting of uneven ground varying in height and consistency of material and variation in elevation (mud, gravel, rutted ground etc.);
  • Be able to wear standard PPE, (i.e., hard hats, safety vest, work boots, safety glasses/goggles);
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record; and
  • As this is primarily a field-based position, the ability and desire to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions is required.
