HRP’s Clifton Park, NY office has an immediate full-time opportunity for a Senior Consultant Engineer.  The years of experience required for this position is 5+ years, either with a consultant, or manufacturing operation, or combination thereof.  This candidate will be responsible for completing assigned projects with minimal supervision, utilizing junior staff, participate in business development and marketing assignments and campaigns issued by management, work with Project Manager to develop business and technical skills for further company advancement, and mentor junior staff’s core competencies.  This is a fantastic opportunity for a self-motivated but team-oriented professional to further develop your career by joining a dynamic team that takes on challenging projects and that provides you with excellent rewards and benefits in return. Responsibilities:

Having a working knowledge of State and Federal laws and regulations and guidelines governing assigned work responsibilities in program areas including:

  • Clean Air Act (Air emissions, calculations and permitting from various sources)
  • EPA Risk Management Program
  • EPRCA Tier 2 and Form R reporting
  • Clean Water Act (storm water, wastewater, DMR’s, permitting
  • RCRA- Hazardous Waste and Solid Waste Management, UST’s
  • OSHA general industry standards
  • OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM)
  • Experience or desire to participate in Environmental, Health and Safety Training for work responsibilities identified above
  • Environmental compliance audits (multi-media)
  • OSHA compliance audits (single focus and site wide program reviews
  • Preparation management of site specific OSHA Health and Safety Plans (HSP)
  • Working knowledge of engineering analysis, planning, design and construction of pollution control or waste management facilities and processes or programs
  • ISO and EMS experience (preferred, but not required)

Assist PM by supervising staff including:

  • Assigning tasks
  • Provide report conclusions and recommendations
  • Finalize reports, calculations, specifications and designs for PM approval
  • Communicate project design, finding and conclusions and recommendations with clients and regulators
  • Understand client and HRP risk tolerance
  • Continuously improve to maximize efficiency and expand HRP services and bring value to our clients
  • Conduct field work, assessments, surveys and field inspections
  • Field supervision of junior staff, subcontractors, and vendors
  • Ability to conduct presentations or work product internally to management as well as external to clients and prospects
  • Prepare technical reports, solutions, opinions, and designs for review by management
  • Communicate professionally with private clients, municipalities and regulators
  • Ability to interact, schedule and supervise with other disciplines, vendors, sub-consultants, or joint ventures in collaborative work environments

Job Requirements:

  • BS/MS degree in Engineering or Technical Science related fields

Preferred:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Experience or ability to learn air and water modeling programs such as AERSCEEN, MARPLOT, SCREEN3
  • CAD/GIS
