HRP Associates, Inc. is seeking a Project Manager- Geologist with 10+ years’ experience to join our team.  This candidate will primarily be responsible for day-to-day management of a portfolio of projects under the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation’s (NYSDEC’s) Standby Engineering Contract.  In addition, the Project Manager will help manage and grow the existing clients and prospective clients within New York, including but not limited to State brownfields, Office of General Services (OGS) remediation and tank design projects, as well as private and municipal clients.  A variety of challenging assignments will be offered to successful candidates, including environmental assessments, the design and execution of hydrogeological investigations, and remedial actions.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Project management of a broad technical range of projects valued up to $5M
  • Staff leadership, mentoring and supervision
  • Client communication and management
  • Budget development and proposals
  • Development of Conceptual Site Models
  • Site investigation under a broad array of hydrogeological conditions
  • Remediation design and implementation
  • Data analysis and interpretation
  • Report preparation

Work experience and knowledge to include (depending on experience level & position):

  • Multi-media field sampling and logging techniques
  • Oversight and management of subcontractors
  • Monitoring well design and installation
  • Geospatial data collection and analysis
  • Knowledge of regulatory framework in the Northeast, particularly within the State of New York
  • Environmental site assessments (Phase I/II/III)
  • Report preparation and an aptitude for technical writing
  • Groundwater/soil remediation technologies
  • Emerging contaminants sampling, investigation, and treatment methods

Job Requirements:

  • Has PE and/or PG or interested in attaining professional licensure(s)
  • Consulting experience
  • BS/MS in Geology, Environmental Engineering, or similar major
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience completing environmental investigation and remediation projects in New York
  • Demonstrated success in planning, developing, and executing field investigation/remedial strategies for pollutants in various geologic settings
  • General or working knowledge of NYSDEC assessment, investigation, remedial programs, state, and federal funding mechanisms.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with proficiency in MS Office products
  • Familiarity with EQuIS database
  • Capable of working both independently and in a team environment
  • Self-motivated, energetic professional

Salary Range is $85K to $100K.
