HRP’s Farmington, Connecticut office has a Summer Internship opportunity for an individual who is interested in gaining experience in content creation. The Intern will assist HRP’s Senior Content Creator in all aspects of content production for HRP’s digital media platforms, principally, video production and podcast production.

Key Responsibilities:

The Intern will be responsible for one or more of each of the following duties throughout their internship, with each assignment serving as a formative assessment. This will be tracked and assessed by the Senior Content Creator who will provide regular real-time feedback to the Intern in addition to weekly meetings to communicate progress and make recommendations.

Video production will include:
  • Learning how to use multiple mirrorless camera systems
  • Filming videos for YouTube productions
  • Filming b roll videos for YouTube productions
  • Shooting photos for thumbnails and social media content
  • Learning and demonstrating knowledge of basic staging elements, including
    • Lighting basics, such as 3-point lighting and lighting for effect
    • Framing
    • Blocking

Audio production will include:
  • Capturing quality sound in indoor and outdoor environments
  • Audio engineering basics, such as:
    • Properly setting up microphones
    • Establishing sound and noise levels

The Intern will learn and demonstrate knowledge of video and editing software, including Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Audition, as well as Audacity. These duties will include:
  • Basic editing of multi camera shoots
  • Transitions
  • Use of motion graphics
  • Use of keyframes
  • Noise reduction
  • Mixing
  • Use of compressors
  • Equalization
  • Basic color correction and color grading
  • Visual story telling
For the Digital Media Marketing Intern position, we anticipate an hourly rate of $18.00 USD.
